'Home is your corner of the world'. ♥ (Ilse Crawford) The biggest job of a military spouse is creating your corner of the world, that refuge, that safe haven for the military member to return to. Said Charles Dickens, "Home is a name, a word, it is a strong one; stronger than magician ever spoke, or spirit ever answered to, in the strongest conjuration." It is a big task to undertake--in our current world it's nearly a war in and of itself--to create such a magical sanctuary, to keep the home-fire burning bright while our spouses go out into the world to make the world safer, to make it better. The 48th SFSG recognizes the troubles you face and our hope is to bear you up, to give you a respite (if only once a month) and to give you support in any way we can, so that you in turn can provide that respite and support for your families. We are here to help you win your battles and to be triumphant in your endeavors to create a safe haven within whatever walls you may reside.

July 
4th- Independence Day Celebration Carnival at RAF Feltwell: This is a seriously awesome event.  Lots of food, rides and games and fireworks at dusk.  And a big opportunity for us to raise money, as it is also our annual fundraiser with Defender Council, a booth at the carnival.
15th- Memorial for A1C Patton @ 1500 in Hanger 7 to be followed by a Reception for family and 48th SFS at the Chapel.  Free Childcare provided by the 492nd and 494th Spouses' Groups in conjunction with the OSCS available from 1400-1700 in the squadron training building #1064.


18th- Board Meeting*  


26th- Picnic at the Park: 12 noon, Defender Park.  Bring the kids and a picnic.  Hang out with the other Spouses and enjoy the English summer... or if the weather doesn't cooperate, please join us at the indoor gym at the Bob Hope Center at RAF Mildenhall :)
30th- DO TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED.Teddy Bear Picnic at the Duck Pond.  This is our group's first base-wide fundraiser event.  Hope to see you there :)
August
