'Home is your corner of the world'. ♥ (Ilse Crawford) The biggest job of a military spouse is creating your corner of the world, that refuge, that safe haven for the military member to return to. Said Charles Dickens, "Home is a name, a word, it is a strong one; stronger than magician ever spoke, or spirit ever answered to, in the strongest conjuration." It is a big task to undertake--in our current world it's nearly a war in and of itself--to create such a magical sanctuary, to keep the home-fire burning bright while our spouses go out into the world to make the world safer, to make it better. The 48th SFSG recognizes the troubles you face and our hope is to bear you up, to give you a respite (if only once a month) and to give you support in any way we can, so that you in turn can provide that respite and support for your families. We are here to help you win your battles and to be triumphant in your endeavors to create a safe haven within whatever walls you may reside.

Meet the Board

Hello, Spouses!  Here's the place to meet your 2011-2012 Board Members.  We're here to serve you and make this group the best we can.  If you ever need anything or have questions or suggestions, feel free to email us spousesrus@yahoo.com

President: Miranda Marrott
Spouses!  I am so excited to get this year going and to have opportunities to get to know all of you :)  As for me... I was born and grew up in Indiana, but have lived most of my adult life in the Western U.S. and LOVE it there.  I'm a little crazy (as evident by the fact that I homeschool 5 children); I love to laugh, dance and sing.  Love to read, love to write and, oddly, I love the smell of books.

Weird Fact: Have never watched Top Gun.  I know, scandalous!
Random Goal: To create my own cookie recipe.

Vice President: Kelli Buck
Hi!  I'm very excited to be your vice president this year.  About me... I'm fun and I love to be able to help people.  My husband and I are very excited for the arrival of our first child in December.

Weird fact: I absolutely LOVE math and anything math related!
Fun fact: My grandmother knew JFK.

Secretary A: Ashley Parish
I am from Montana and love it there.  I have been here for a year now and am just trying to travel and see and do as much as I can with the time we are here.  I love doing pretty much anything outdoors.  Looking forward to meeting you all and making more friends!

Secretary B:  Rebecca Deen     I was born and raised in south Texas but love to see new places.  My husband and I have been married for 3 years and are expecting our first child Summer 2011.  We have been in England for a little over a year now and are truly enjoying our time here.  I will admit, when we first arrived it was a little rough, but the spouses group really helped me make some great friends.  This is one of the reasons I decided to become more involved this year.  I am looking forward to helping those spouses who are feeling a little lost and just need some company.  I love to travel and enjoy meeting new people.  So if you ever see me on/off base, feel free to say hello :)
